DNS settings

For Internet domain names resolution UserGate Server provides two opportunities: DNS requests
redirecting (forwarding) and NAT rules. Responses from DNS forwarding requests are cached, thereby
speeding up frequently requested domain name resolutions. DNS forwarding settings are available in
“Services – DNS Forwarding” of the Administration Console where you can specify one or several DNS
servers where UserGate will forward client DNS requests. By default, DNS forwarding is disabled
(Fig.13). In this case UserGate proxy servers will use the DNS servers specified in the network settings
on workstation with UserGate installed
