Accurate Traffic Calculations
UserGate calculates traffic for each user (including traffic through SMTP servers). Administrators can calculate and view user Internet statistics per day and/or per site for any time interval. Statistics can be performed based on protocols used or by numerous other criteria. 
Setting quotas
With UserGate Proxy you can set different monthly or daily traffic quotas for each of your internet users. You can always see the traffic consumed, calculate its cost and set flexible restrictions. For example, you can configure UserGate so your users can continue using all e-mail protocols even after exceeding their monthly traffic quota.
Statistics
UserGate Proxy provides you with a tremendous number of ways to analyze your internet traffic. You can see detailed statistics for each user, review traffic consumed, specific sites visited, etc. Optionally, statistics can be exported to MS Excel format.
Internet statistics can also be set so users can also see their stats or get them via e-mail.
Billing System
The built-in Billing System performs automatic calculations of Internet expenses for each user based on time and/or traffic volume. The Billing System supports different rates for each user or for groups of users, switching rates depending on the time of day, day of the week or by website address.
User Authorization Methods
With UserGate users can be authorized by:
- Username and password.
- Windows authorization.
- Active Directory authorization.
- IP address.
- IP and MAC address.
- IP and MAC ticket.
Active Directory support lets you use centrally stored user information to be sure that all changes are automatically reflected in UserGate. Also, instead of having to manually enter each user, UserGate can import users from an Active Directory, which makes it extremely easy to set up user connections.
Upstream Proxy Connection
UserGate provides support for upstream proxy connections with an authorization option.
Remote Administration
UserGate has a UserGate Administrator module that allows network administrators to work remotely and be more mobile.
