Content filtering
Sometimes the Internet is extensively used for downloading files or surfing websites that are not related to work. Examples include: watching movies, listening to Internet radio, downloading MP3 files, etc. With UserGate Proxy you can block specific file types, disable the visiting of download archives and restrict FTP access. Administrators can ban specific websites or block all internet usage except for particular sites or IP ranges. 
FTP traffic control
Just as with HTTP sites, UserGate can control, analyze and restrict FTP traffic. You can permit access to specific FTP servers while blocking all others, for example.
Pop-up window blocking
UserGate can block ad banners and pop-ups, which consume significant bandwidth. These functions enable you to create a list of blocked internet sites.
Application control
With UserGate an administrator can prohibit the use of MSN, ICQ and other instant messengers that present an additional security risk.
Flexible scheduling
Each restriction can be configured individually for each user. Moreover each restriction can be set according to some schedule. So the configuration may be different for working and non-working hours.
