In UserGate, caching is available for HTTP and FTP traffic and can be enabled or disabled manually in the UserGate administration console. Settings include cache size, document lifetime in cache, and the option to calculate traffic from the cache.
“Cache size” ranges from 10 to 50,000 MB, providing enough space to store the results of several thousand requests per day. “Document lifetime in cache” is calculated as a percentage of the document lifetime set by a web server. The “No more than” option defines the maximum number of hours the document will be stored in cache. Finally, if you want the traffic from the cache to be calculated and shown in UserGate statistics, set the “Calculate traffic from cache” to ‘On’.
